| This is a painting of Lisianski Inlet, gateway to Pelican AK, a commercial fishing village with a population of 150 people. Pelican is one of the most unique places that I have visited, comprised of a boardwalk built along the edge of a mountain on one side and sitting on stilts over the harbor on the other. Pelican has a general store, post office, two bars, a restaurant and fish processing plant. It is accessible only by boat and float plane, and has no roads. The inlet is 500 feet deep and provides the blue grey intense color, enhanced by the deeply shaded mountains that rise up so steeply on either side.
